Widder Vertikal Zusatz Black

Design meets history

This five-star boutique hotel in the centre of Zurich is spread over nine medieval townhouses. All buildings have been extensively renovated and blend traditional with modern elements. History, art and design come together here in perfect harmony, down to the smallest detail, to create a unique work of art. The 49 rooms and suites as well as four luxury apartments are both exclusive and elegant. Refreshments are provided by the popular Widder Bar with the Widder Garden in summer as well as two restaurants – the more informal Boucherie AuGust and the Widder Restaurant for fine dining.

Characteristics of the Widder Hotel

Design

Mid-century design classics by Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, Eileen Gray or Charles and Ray Eames lend an air of timeless beauty to the interiors.

Romans

During renovations, a Roman fireplace was uncovered that dates back more than 2,000 years. A hint of the fireplace can still be seen today in an abstract form in our Pfiffebödeli room.

Lapis lazuli

This deep-blue precious stone shimmers in the Widder Bar.

Art

Artist Robert Rauschenberg created a work of art especially for the Penthouse Suite. The hotel also boasts works by Swiss masters like Giacometti.

Verdant paradise

The Widder Garden in the hotel’s inner courtyard offers a haven in the city in the warmer months.

“The Widder is more than just a hotel; it is a gem in the Swiss luxury hotel landscape.”
